Comfort-First Care for Anxious Little Smiles
Some children feel nervous or fearful about dental visits, especially during longer or more involved procedures. At NSK Pediatric Dentistry, we offer safe, child-friendly sedation options to help your little one feel relaxed and at ease during treatment. Whether it’s a routine filling or a complex procedure, our goal is to create a positive and stress-free experience.
Conscious sedation is safer than putting a child completely to sleep (general anesthesia) because the child can still breathe on their own. Most side effects are mild, like feeling sleepy or dizzy after the visit, but the dental team is trained to handle any problems that rarely happen.
Sedation Options We Offer
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
A mild, sweet-smelling gas delivered through a small nose mask. Nitrous oxide helps your child feel calm and comfortable while remaining fully awake. It wears off quickly after the visit.
Oral Sedation
Administered as a liquid medication before the procedure, oral sedation promotes deeper relaxation. Your child may feel drowsy but will remain conscious.
